Challenge and solution

Overdrive Moldova, who had to organize the Season 2016 Championship, invited us to reshape the project. We took the registering process out of their hands with the task to completely automatize it. The website and pilot management system we created for https://dragracing.md had to replace the set-up that had become old and cumbersome. In addition, we also designed the system to fulfil more tasks than it used to, including the awarding of medals, implementation of social networks, registration of records, and live logs during the events.

Each drag race track has sensors that measure the performance of the pilots. Depending on their performance, the pilots receive points and subsequently a ranking is created. Before the platform was built, the ranking process was done manually by the organizers. Everything was done with pen and paper and had to be triple checked before the results could be announced. This process was very time consuming and required a lot of unnecessary work.

Our goal was to develop a fully automatized platform that would completely eliminate the human factor in the pilots’ registration and ranking process. Our platform reads the data provided by the sensors and creates the ranking by using a predefined formula.
