Hayema Heerd

Oldehove, The Netherlands

Hayema Heerd is a Dutch farm that owners Hans and Wil transformed in a hotel-restaurant, and meeting, party, and activities venue. Located in the picturesque countryside of the province of Groningen, Hayema Heerd emphasizes the primordial and the pure, sparkle and cheerfulness, and seeks to inspire its guests who come for a (business) workshop, an accommodation or to celebrate a festivity.

Hayema Heerd offers various special overnight stays, all themed around one ingredient, Straw: straw-filled beds at the hayloft; in the straw igloos; and in the straw castle; and for those who really want to sleep within the peaceful nature, a private bedroom inside a covered wagon.

Designing of the logo

The logo redesign also had to fit the rebranding: a modern, but playful looking design with icon displays of the various facilities that Hayema Heerd offers: camping, activities, a straw-hotel, a conference center, and a party venue. This logo was part of a completely updated house style, which also comes back in their communication materials, such as the online newsletter, letters and envelopes, and business cards.

The redesign of the Hayema Heerd website was part of their rebranding to the “Straw-Hotel,” a unique place for guests of all ages and from all kinds of places to come to sleep, dance, meet, and above all, to dare to dream among the straw. Nonetheless, the new website had to be practical as well, with a modern booking system, a separate business section, and a highlight of their latest attraction – the covered wagon.
